Outer space; conglomerations of stars and planets in space; the Milky Way.
gale (-s), n. [Norw. galen, mad; see also OE galan > f. galen, to sing.] (webplay: breeze, ride, storm, wind).
NW says: in the language of seamen, the word gale, unaccompanied by an epithet, signifies a vehement wind, a storm or tempest; ED uses the word almost entirely in this sense, in reference to boats and storms at sea; strong wind; breeze.
