faint (-er, -est), adj. [OFr feint, sluggish, cowardly.] (webplay: breathe, day, fair, hearing, honor, houses, imperfect, lady, last, light, little, lose, loss, low, red, send, small, sound, spirit, striking, strong, timid, way, wines).
- Weak; feeble; languid; stripped of power; (see Genesis 25:29).
- Hardly visible; not bright or vivid; weak color.
- Unlikely; indefinite; small probability of occurring.
- Hallow; muted; weak or empty sound; not loud.
- Passive; lazy; nonchalant.
- Life fading out as approaching death; lost in another world.
- Hardly perceptible; not apparent or obvious; humility.
