reside (residing), v. [Fr. résider or L. re- + sedēre, sit.]

1. To dwell permanently or for a great length of time; to live in the same place as one's family has for generations.
2. To settle in a place with the intent of staying for a long time.
3. To sink to the bottom of liquors (or fluids); to settle; subside.
