1. Smooth type of calcarious stone. Often used for inscriptions or sculpture.
2. [Fig.] tomb; [geologists define marble as a metamorphosed limestone, a sedimentary stone formed from the remains of small organisms, usually crustaceans, and calcified into stone.]
3. Small ball of marble, stone, or glass used in games.
