THAL'LITE, n. [Gr. θαλλος, a green twig.]

In mineralogy, a substance variously denominated by different authors. It is the epidote of Haüy, the delphinite of Saussure, and the pistacite of Werner. It occurs both crystalized and in masses. Cyc.
