AM'BE, or AM'BI, n. [Gr. αμβη, a brim; from amb, about.]

Literally, a brim; but in surgery, an instrument for reducing dislocated shoulders, so called from the jutting of its extremity. Also the mango tree. – Quincy. Encyc. Coxe.
