VIT-RI-OLIC, a.

Pertaining to vitriol; having the qualities of vitriol, or obtained from vitriol. Vitriolic acid, in modern chimistry is denominated sulphuric arid, the base of it being sulphur; one equivalent of sulphur combined with three equivalents of oxygen.
