INFERNAL-STONE, n. [Infernal stone; lapis infernalis,]
a name formerly given to lunar caustic, a substance prepared from an evaporated solution of silver in nitric acid. Lunar caustic is nitrate of silver fused and cast in small cylinders. – Brande.
