LAMA, n.
- The sovereign pontiff, or rather the god of the Asiatic Tartars. – Encyc.
- A ruminant mammal, called by naturalists Auchenia Glama, inhabiting Peru and the Southern Andes. It is nearly allied to the camel, and has been domesticated and used as a beast of burden.
