SEP'A-RATE, a. [L. separatus.]
- Divided from the rest; being parted from another; disjoined; disconnected; used of things that have not united or connected. Gen. xlix. 2 Cor. vi.
- Unconnected; not united; distinct; used of things that have not been connected. Christ was holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. Heb. vii.
- Disunited from the body; as, a separate spirit; the separate state of souls. – Locke.
