SUB-SCRIP'TION, n. [L. subscriptio.]
- Any thing, particularly a paper, with names subscribed.
- The act of subscribing or writing one's name underneath; name subscribed; signature.
- Consent or attestation given by underwriting the name.
- The act of contributing to any undertaking.
- Sum subscribed; amount of sums subscribed. We speak of an individual subscription, or of the whole subscription to a fund.
- Submission; obedience. [Not in use.]
