TOL'ER-ANCE, n. [L. tolerantia, from tolero, to bear.]

The power or capacity of enduring; or the act of enduring. Diogenes one frosty morning came to the marketplace shaking, to show his tolerance. Bacon. [Little used. But intolerance is in common use.]
