COCK'LE, n.1 [Sax. coccel, cocel, or cocle; Ir. cagal; Sp. and Port. joyo; Fr. coquelicot.]
A plant or weed, that grows among corn, the corn-rose, a species of Agrostemma. It is also applied to the Lolium or darnel.
