CON-CEDE', v.t. [L. concedo; con and cedo, to yield, give way, depart, desist; It. concedere, cedere; Sp. conceder, ceder; Fr. conceder, ceder; Ir. ceadaighim; W. gadael, and gadaw, to quit or leave, to permit.
