FREN'ZY, n. [Fr. frenesie; It. frenesia; from L. phrenitis, Gr. φρενιτις, from φρην, mind, which is from moving, rushing. See Frantic.]
Madness; distraction; rage; or any violent agitation of the mind approaching to distraction. All else is towering frenzy and distraction. Addison.
