WISE-SAY-ER, n. [G. weise, wise, and sagen, to say, to tell; weissager, a foreteller.]
- A foreteller; one who is noted for predicting the weather.
- One who makes pretensions to great wisdom; hence in contempt, a simpleton; a dunce. – Addison.
