CERE'CLOTH, n. [L. cera, wax, and cloth.]

A cloth smeared with melted wax, or with some gummy or glutinous matter. – Bacon. But the English word for a cloth used to cover wounds is sear-cloth; Sax. sar-cloth, a sore-cloth.
