PREST, n. [Fr. prêt, supra.]

  1. A loan. [Obs.] – Bacon.
  2. Formerly, a duty in money, to be paid by the sherif on his account in the exchequer, or for money left or remaining in his hands. – 2 and 3 Edw. VI.
