DIS'THENE, n. [Gr. δις, two, and σθενος, force.]
A mineral so called by Haüy, because its crystals have the property of being electrified both positively and negatively. It is the sappare of Saussure, and the kyanite of Werner. – Lunier. Cleaveland.
