GA-LAC'TITE, n. [Gr. γαλα, γαλακτος, milk.]
A fossil substance resembling the morochthus or French chalk in many respects, but different in color. Immersed or triturated in water, it gives it the color of milk. – Encyc. Morin. Lunier.
