RAI-MENT, n. [for arrayment; Norm. araer, to array; araies, array, apparel. See Array and Ray.]
- Clothing in general; vestments; vesture; garments. – Gen. xxiv. Deut. viii. Living, both food and raiment she supplies. – Dryden.
- A single garment. Sidney. [In this sense it is rarely used, and indeed is improper.]
