CON-DIGN', a. [condi'ne; L. condignus; con and dignus, worthy. See Dignity.]
- Deserved; merited; suitable: applied usually to punishment; as, the malefactor has suffered condign punishment.
- Worthy; merited; as, condign praise. – Spenser. Shak. [In the latter sense, seldom used.]
