HY'DRO-SCOPE, n. [Gr. υδωρ, water, and σκοπεω, to view.]
A kind of water clock, or instrument used anciently for measuring time, consisting of a cylindrical tube, conical at the bottom, perforated at the vertex, and the whole tube graduated. Encyc.
